Ingredients: green split peas, yellow split peas, arborio rice, parsley, onion, turmeric, mustard, bouillon mix (nutritional yeast, onion, garlic, parsley, oregano, thyme, basil, turmeric)
To prepare soup
In a large pot combine all of the ingredients in the mason jar with 12 cups of cold water.
Bring to a boil and then reduce heat to a medium heat and cook for 60 – 90 minutes, until the split peas are cooked through. The green split peas will take much longer to cook than the yellow split peas.
While your soup is cooking, stir it regularly. Be sure to stir your soup frequently during the last 30 or so minutes of cooking time. As your soup thickens, it risks sticking to the bottom of your pot. Add more hot water if your soup becomes too thick for your liking.
Once cooked, allow to sit off the heat for approximately 30 minutes; this helps enhance the flavors. Reheat before serving if required.
